2017 global TV panel shipments will be reduced by 1.2%

IHS Markit, the global LCD TV panel manufacturer, today unveiled a new LCD TV panel manufacturer in the United States that will convert its old LCD factory in 2017 into a larger LCD TV panel and a more flexible and flexible business strategy. Volume target set at 258.4 million units, down 1.2%.

IHS monitor supply chain director, said Yang Jingping, LCD TV panel shipments in 2016 compared with the same period in 2015 decreased by 5%, down to 2.616 million units. Among the six panel makers, BOE and Huaxing are the biggest contributors to TV panel shipments growth in 2016, thanks to the increased demand for 32-inch panels. But these growth is still not enough to offset the South Korea and Taiwan, the main panel plant shipments decreased. Several panel makers are turning to larger panels, facing lower production efficiencies or a significant drop in demand for smaller sizes such as 23.6-inch panels. Even in 2017, panel makers such as BOE, Qunchuang Optoelectronics and Huaxing Optoelectronics will have new capacity inputs. Overall, LCD TV panel makers will be careful to develop their 2017 production plans and business strategies. b32529c182k289

BOE has seen positive growth in shipments in recent years; however, as the company will shift to producing more large-size panels (especially 43-inch and 55-inch) and some of its capacity will also be used to produce IT panels, 2017 shipments will be reduced by 14%. Panel makers are now more aggressive in diversifying their product strategies, including the development of larger panels and other high-end products such as 4K panels, rather than expanding the supply of current TV panels. tda7580
